B.V.P. CALCIUM 40 PLUS INJECTION

Calcium-40-Plus-largeFOR CATTLE

Presentation:

A clear, colourless to pale yellow, sterile, aqueous, injectable solution containing calcium

borogluconate and magnesium hypophosphite equivalent to Calcium 3.0% w/v, Phosphorus

0.7% w/v, and Magnesium 0.28% w/v.

Uses:

The product is recommended for the treatment of hypocalcaemia in cattle before, during, and

after birth, or during lactation, when complicated by magnesium and phosphorus deficiency.

Dosage And Administration:

Administer by subcutaneous or slow intravenous injection, using aseptic technique.

The actual dose will depend upon the clinical condition of the animal, and the amount to use

is left to the expertise of the Veterinary Surgeon who may direct accordingly.

As a guide it is suggested that a dose of 800 – 1,500 mg of calcium per 50 kg be used

corresponding the following:

Cattle – up to 500 ml.

Contra-Indications, Warnings, Etc:

·       Administer with care particularly where concurrent toxaemia exists.

·       The solution should be warmed to body temperature before use.

·       Intravenous injections should be carried out slowly and stopped at once if untoward symptoms occur.

·       When administered subcutaneously massage the injection site.

·       Avoid the introduction of contamination during use.

Withdrawal Periods:

·       Milk: NIL

·       Meat: NIL

Pharmaceutical Precautions:

·       KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.

·       FOR ANIMAL TREATMENT ONLY.

·       Protect from light.

·       Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 degrees Centigrade.

·       This product is intended for single use only.  Any product remaining after use should be discarded.
