anugentComposition: Gentamycin (base) 100 mg/ml

Indications: A sterilre solution for use against severe bacterial infections, and infections caused by organisms resistant to other antibiotics  .

Properties: Gentamycin is abroad spectrum antibiotic of high efficacy against awide range of gram (+)positive and gram (-) negative bacteria,including urinary tract, respiratory infections, gastro-intestinal, skin and tissue and uterus infections.

Dosage & Administration: by intramascular, subcutanous or slow intravenous injection.

For intrauterine infusion in mares, use 1000-2500 mg gentamycin.

HORSES:

2.5 mg/kg (2.5 ml / 100 kg body weight) twice daily on 1st day and then every 24 hrs for 5-7 days.

DOGS & CATS:

5 mg/kg (.050 ml/10 kg body weight) twice daily on 1st day and then every 24 hrs for 5-7 days.

Warnings:

Do not use in known cases of renal impairment. Treatment should not exceed 5 days without biochemical confirmation of normal renal function. Confirmation of normal renal function. Do not use in pregnant animals. A longer dosing interval should be considered immediately prior to anaesthesia since halothane significantly increases the half-life of gentamycin. Do not use in known cases of sensitivity to gentamycin.
